Benylin 4 Flu – 24 Tablets

Benylin 4 Flu is designed to relieve cold and flu symptoms.

How Benylin 4 Flu Works

Benylin 4 Flu contains 2 active ingredients:

  • Paracetamol – Helps relieve aches, pains, and fever by blocking the chemical messengers in your brain that signal pain

  • Diphenhydramine – An antihistamine that helps relieve coughing, sneezing, and a runny nose

 

Directions

Always take Benylin 4 Flu exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist.

Dosage:

  • Children aged 10–15 years: Take 1 tablet up to 4 times per day

  • Adults and children over 16 years: Take 2 tablets up to 4 times per day

  • Leave at least 4 hours between doses

  • Do not give this medicine to a child under 16 years old for more than 5 days without medical advice

 

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Benylin 4 Flu may cause side effects in some people. Common side effects include:

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Nervousness or dizziness

  • Difficulty performing tasks

  • Dry mouth

  • Thickened mucus

  • Nausea

  • Blurred vision

  • Unusual weakness

 

Report any side effects via the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Serious Side Effects – Seek emergency medical attention if you experience:

  • Swelling of the face or throat

  • Skin rash

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Loss of consciousness

 

Warnings

Do NOT take Benylin 4 Flu if you:

  • Are allergic to any of the ingredients

  • Have heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, an overactive thyroid, pheochromocytoma, glaucoma, or severe kidney problems

 

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist first if you have:

  • Severe liver or kidney issues

  • Alcohol dependence

  • Difficulty passing water or an enlarged prostate

  • Glaucoma risk

  • Blocked arteries or veins

  • Bronchitis, emphysema, or asthma

  • A thyroid disorder

 

Taking with Other Medicines

Speak to your GP or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken:

  • Tricyclic antidepressants

  • Anticholinergics

  • Tranquillisers or sedatives

  • Opioids (codeine, tramadol, morphine)

  • Antipsychotics

  • Moclobemide

  • Cardiac glycosides

  • Oxytocin

  • Ergot alkaloids

  • Oral contraception

  • Metoclopramide or domperidone

  • Cholestyramine

  • Anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin)

  • Anticonvulsants

 

Age Restrictions

  • Not suitable for children under 10 years old

 

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

  • Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding

 

Alcohol

  • Avoid drinking alcohol while using this medicine

 

Driving & Operating Machinery

  • May cause drowsiness

  • Do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe to do so

 

Storage Information

  • Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place

  • Keep out of sight and reach of children

  • Do not use after the expiry date

  • Do not dispose of via household waste
