Description

If you’re experiencing constipation or need to empty your bowels before a medical procedure or treatment, Dulcolax Suppositories can provide effective relief.

A suppository is a small, cone-shaped insert designed to be placed into the rectum to stimulate a bowel movement. These suppositories can work in as little as 10-30 minutes.

How Dulcolax Suppositories work

Dulcolax Suppositories contain bisacodyl, a stimulant laxative used to treat constipation. It works by softening the stool and stimulating the bowel to produce a movement.

Directions

Always use Dulcolax Suppositories exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as advised by your doctor or Happy Pharmacy pharmacist.

Do not use this product for longer than 5 consecutive days.

To use the suppository:

  1. Remove the foil wrapping.

  1. Lie on one side with your knees drawn up towards your chest, keeping one leg more raised than the other.

  1. With your index or middle finger, gently insert the suppository into your rectum with the pointed end first. Push it in as far as possible.

  1. Once inserted, angle it slightly sideways to ensure contact with the bowel wall.

  1. Return your legs to a comfortable position, ensuring the suppository remains in place. Keep it inserted for at least 30 minutes.

If you have difficulty inserting the suppository, consult the patient information leaflet included.
