Benylin Dry Cough 7.5mg/5ml Syrup is designed to provide you with relief from a dry and pesky cough.

How Benylin Dry Cough 7.5mg/5ml Syrup works
This syrup contains the active ingredient dextromethorphan hydrobromide, a cough suppressant that works by reducing a cough caused by a cold or the flu.

Directions
Always take Benylin Dry Cough Syrup exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as directed by your doctor or Happy Pharmacy pharmacist.
Take 2 x 5ml spoonfuls every 4–6 hours.
Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours. 

Side effects
Like all medicines, Benylin Dry Cough Syrup may cause side effects in some people. Common side effects include:

• Skin rashes

• Swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue

• Itching

• Dizziness

• Drowsiness 

• Nausea or vomiting 

• Diarrhoea

• Shallow breathing

• Difficulty sleeping

• Stomach ache

If you experience any side effects, including those not listed in the leaflet, report them via the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical help if you notice signs of a severe allergic reaction such as:

• Swelling of the face or throat

• Skin rash

• Difficulty breathing

• Loss of consciousness 

Warnings
Benylin Dry Cough Syrup may be unsuitable for some people.
Do not take this medicine if:

• You are allergic to any of the ingredients

• You have lung disease

Using/taking other medicines
Speak to your GP or pharmacist before use if you are taking:

• Any other medicines (prescription or over-the-counter)

• Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)

• Antidepressants

Age restrictions
Not suitable for children under 12 years old. 

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive or think you may be pregnant, speak to your doctor or Happy Pharmacy pharmacist before use. 🤰

Storage information

• Store below 25°C

• Keep in a cool, dry place

• Keep out of sight and reach of children 

• Do not use after the expiry date

• Do not dispose of via wastewater or household waste
