Brolene Eye Drops are used to treat minor eye or eyelid infections. The eye drops can be used on sore, red, inflamed eyes or sticky and crusty eyes and eyelids. 

 

How Brolene Eye Drops work 

 

Brolene Eye Drops contain the active ingredient propamidine isethionate. This medicine belongs to a group known as disinfectants and antifungals. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria, allowing your body to fight off the infection. 

 

Directions 

 

Always use Brolene Eye Drops exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Happy Pharmacy pharmacist has told you. Start by washing your hands and then remove the cap from the bottle. Tilt your head back and squeeze 1-2 drops inside the lower lid without touching your eye. Close your eyes and wipe away any excess liquid. Repeat in the other eye if necessary. 

 

Side effects 

 

Brolene Eye Drops may cause side effects in some people, but these won't affect everybody. There are no known reported side effects of this product. However, if you experience stinging or burning in your eyes, stop using this product and seek medical attention immediately. If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme. 

 

Serious side effects 

 

Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. 

 

Warnings 

 

Brolene Eye Drops may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Do not wear contact lenses when using these eye drops. 

 

Using/taking other medicines 

 

If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist for advice before using this product. 

 

Age restrictions 

 

This product is not suitable for children under 2 years old. 

 

Pregnancy and breastfeeding 

 

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Happy Pharmacy pharmacist for advice before using any new product. 

 

Storage information 

 

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Once opened, the product must be used within 4 weeks.
