What Causes a Sore Throat?

  • Common infections (cold, flu, tonsillitis, laryngitis, glandular fever)

  • Allergies, smoking, or environmental irritants

  • Symptoms may include pain when swallowing, dry throat, and mild cough

 

Who Is This Throat Spray Suitable For?

  • Adults and children aged 6 and over

  • Not suitable for anyone allergic to benzocaine or any listed ingredients

  • Do not use if you have breathing difficulties

  • Avoid if you have methaemoglobinaemia (a rare blood disorder)

Can This Throat Spray Be Used During Pregnancy or Breastfeeding?

  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Always consult a healthcare professional before using new treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding

 

How to Use Ultra Chloraseptic Throat Spray

  • Remove the cap and rotate the nozzle 180 degrees

  • Before first use, spray three times away from your face to activate

 

Recommended Dosage:

  • Children aged 6–12 – Spray once into the back of the throat, every 2–3 hours, up to 8 times a day

  • Children aged 12 and over & adults – Spray 2–3 times into the back of the throat, every 2–3 hours, up to 8 times a day

  • Do not use for more than 3 days. If symptoms persist, seek advice from a GP or pharmacist

 

Are There Any Side Effects?

Most users tolerate Ultra Chloraseptic well, but some may experience:

  • Temporary throat numbness (expected and indicates the spray is working)

 

Possible reactions – Stop use and seek medical help if you experience:

  • Swelling of the face

  • Allergic reactions

 

Report any side effects via the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
