- Prescriber assessment. Complete the required video consultation and answer any follow-up questions. The prescriber confirms whether Foundayo and the requested dose are suitable.
- Dispensing and delivery. Once approved, your medicine is dispensed and sent in plain, discreet packaging with Royal Mail tracking.

About the medicineWhat is Foundayo® (orforglipron)?
Foundayo® is a once-daily prescription tablet containing orforglipron, a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It is licensed for weight loss and weight maintenance in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. The same MHRA authorisation also covers improving blood sugar control in adults with insufficiently controlled type 2 diabetes.
GLP-1 receptor agonists mimic a hormone the body releases after eating. Orforglipron acts on the areas of the brain that regulate appetite, helping people feel fuller for longer, reducing hunger and decreasing food cravings — so they eat less alongside appropriate diet and lifestyle measures.

No fasting window — take it whenever suits you
Foundayo® is the only GLP-1 pill that can be taken at any time of day, with or without food and with no water restrictions. Orforglipron is a small molecule rather than a peptide, so it does not need an absorption enhancer or an empty stomach — which is why it avoids the 30-minute morning wait required by oral semaglutide.
No needles — a daily tablet instead
For people who would rather not inject, Foundayo® offers GLP-1 treatment in a once-daily oral form. No pens, no needles, no sharps disposal and no refrigerated delivery.
Weight loss proven in a large phase 3 programme
Across two 72-week registration trials enrolling more than 4,500 adults, orforglipron produced greater weight loss than placebo. The UK prescribing-information analysis of ATTAIN-1 reports 12.4% average weight loss at the highest studied dose in adults without diabetes.
Improvements in other health measures
Adults taking orforglipron alongside diet and exercise also saw improvements in waist circumference, non-HDL cholesterol, triglycerides and systolic blood pressure. These findings are from clinical trial data; Foundayo® is not licensed to treat cholesterol or blood pressure.
Greater fat mass loss than lean mass loss
An ATTAIN-1 body-composition substudy of 171 participants found that weight loss primarily involved fat mass, although lean mass also decreased. Lean mass includes more than skeletal muscle. Read about how to preserve muscle on Foundayo through appropriate nutrition and strength exercise.

In ATTAIN-1, a 72-week trial in adults with obesity or overweight and a weight-related condition but without diabetes, the UK prescribing-information analysis reports average weight loss of 7.8%, 9.3% and 12.4%, compared with 0.9% on placebo. The trial used 6 mg, 12 mg and 36 mg capsules, corresponding to the marketed 5.5 mg, 9 mg and 17.2 mg tablets respectively; these formulations are not interchangeable milligram for milligram.
At the highest studied dose, 20.1% of participants lost at least 20% of their starting weight, compared with 1.6% on placebo, in the UK prescribing-information analysis. Individual outcomes vary.
ATTAIN-1 randomised 3,127 adults across nine countries to one of three orforglipron doses or placebo, all alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Participants had obesity, or overweight with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea or cardiovascular disease. Adults with diabetes were excluded.
ATTAIN-2 studied 1,613 adults with overweight or obesity and type 2 diabetes. It assessed both weight reduction and blood sugar control. Its different study population means its results should not be treated as the same outcome as ATTAIN-1.

- You have a known hypersensitivity to orforglipron
How to take Foundayo®
One tablet, once a day — and that is the whole routine. There is no fasting window and no waiting period.
- Take Foundayo® by mouth once each day, with or without food, at any time of day.
- Swallow tablets whole. Do not break, crush or chew the tablet.
- Do not take more than 1 tablet per day.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible — but never take two doses on the same day.
- If you miss taking Foundayo® for 7 or more days in a row, contact your prescriber about restarting.
Storing your Foundayo® tablets
Keep the tablets in their original packaging to protect them from light. The UK product information does not specify special temperature storage conditions. Keep out of the sight and reach of children and follow the leaflet supplied with your pack.
Foundayo® dosage and treatment timeline
Treatment begins at 0.8 mg once daily, with at least 30 days at each dose before an increase, up to a maximum of 17.2 mg once daily. Later increases depend on response and tolerability. The Foundayo dose schedule explains each step and why your prescriber may keep you at a lower dose.

Foundayo® side effects
Like all prescription medicines, Foundayo® can cause side effects. Most are gastrointestinal, mild to moderate, and improve over time — particularly after dose increases. Read the leaflet supplied with your medicine and follow your prescriber’s advice.

In pooled weight-management trials in the UK product information, 3.7–6.8% of participants stopped treatment because of gastrointestinal side effects, compared with 0.6% on placebo. Tell your prescriber about any personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2 so they can assess your circumstances.
Medicines and contraceptionCan Foundayo® affect other medicines?
Tell your prescriber about all medicines and supplements before starting. Some antibiotics, antifungals, epilepsy medicines and St John’s wort can affect Foundayo; some combinations must be avoided or need dose changes. Insulin or sulfonylureas can increase the risk of low blood sugar. Do not change another medicine yourself.
Important: oral contraception
Foundayo may reduce the effectiveness of the contraceptive pill. Use an additional barrier method, such as condoms, or switch to a suitable non-oral method for 30 days after starting and 30 days after every dose increase. Ask your prescriber how to maintain protection.
Foundayo must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Stop at least three weeks before a planned pregnancy, with advice from your prescriber. Read our Foundayo side effects and safety guide for more detail.
