Orforglipron UK availability has moved beyond the approval stage: the medicine, sold as Foundayo, is listed by Happy Pharmacy for private weight-management treatment following a consultation and prescriber approval. Supply depends on clinical suitability and stock. This article separates UK authorisation, private pharmacy availability and NHS access.
Is orforglipron available in the UK?
Yes. The MHRA authorised Foundayo on 10 August 2026 for weight management and type 2 diabetes. Happy Pharmacy now lists Foundayo for private weight-management treatment. For current doses, prices and the assessment process, see our Foundayo (orforglipron) pills product page.
A product listing is not a guarantee that every dose is in stock or that treatment is suitable for you. Availability can change, and a prescriber must assess your medical history and current medicines before supply.
UK approval, pharmacy supply and NHS access: what is the difference?
- MHRA authorisation: permission to market the medicine for its licensed uses. This was granted on 10 August 2026.
- Private pharmacy availability: a provider’s ability to prescribe and supply it, subject to assessment and stock.
- NHS access: separate assessment, funding and local prescribing arrangements. Private availability does not establish NHS access.
Is orforglipron available on the NHS?
The MHRA stated at approval that Foundayo was not then available through the NHS. NICE continues to list its adult weight-management appraisal, “Orforglipron for managing overweight and obesity” (ID6516), as guidance in development. We have not identified a confirmed NHS rollout date in the official sources checked for this update.
Ask your GP or specialist team about current local options. A future NICE publication date would not, by itself, guarantee immediate access for every patient or across every part of the UK.
What is orforglipron?
Orforglipron is the active ingredient in Foundayo, a once-daily prescription GLP-1 tablet. Our guide explains how Foundayo works, while the Foundayo eligibility guide covers weight-management criteria and screening.
The separate diabetes indication does not establish that Happy Pharmacy offers diabetes prescribing. Read our orforglipron diabetes guide and discuss diabetes treatment with your existing care team.
Does UK availability mean I should switch from injections?
No. A tablet may suit some people’s preferences, but availability alone is not a reason to change treatment. Our weight loss pills vs injections guide explains the practical differences. Discuss any switch with your prescriber; do not stop your current medicine or change its dose yourself.
Where can I check current prices and supply?
The Foundayo UK product page holds Happy Pharmacy’s current listed prices, pack information and ordering options. Contact the pharmacy if you need to confirm availability of a particular strength.
How to stay safe
- Use a registered pharmacy and complete the required clinical assessment.
- Do not treat a waiting-list advert or social-media post as proof of legitimate supply.
- Read the leaflet supplied with your medicine and report suspected side effects through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
This article provides general information. Treatment decisions require an individual clinical assessment.
