How Does Lemsip Max Day & Night Help?

Lemsip Max Day & Night Capsules contain three active ingredients:

  • Paracetamol – Relieves pain, fever, and sore throat

  • Phenylephrine – A decongestant that eases nasal swelling & pressure

  • Caffeine – Reduces tiredness during the day (only in daytime capsules)

 

Night capsules do not contain caffeine, ensuring undisturbed sleep.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Consult your GP or pharmacist before use

  • Not suitable for those with a history of pre-eclampsia

 

Can I Take This Product With Other Medications?

Speak to a pharmacist before use if you’re taking:

  • Other paracetamol-containing products

  • MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) (or if taken within the past 14 days)

  • Other cough, cold, or flu remedies

  • Beta-blockers

  • Tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline)

  • Decongestants

  • Barbiturates (for sleep or epilepsy)

  • Cholestyramine (for blood cholesterol)

  • Medicines for nausea (e.g., metoclopramide, domperidone)

  • Blood thinners (e.g., warfarin)

  • Cardiac glycosides (e.g., digoxin)

  • Cimetidine (for stomach acid)

  • Disulfiram (for alcoholism)

  • Oral contraceptives

 

Can I Drive After Taking These Capsules?

  • May cause restlessness, confusion, or sleep disturbances

  • Do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe to do so

 

How to Take Lemsip Max Day & Night Capsules

  • Daytime: Take 2 red & yellow capsules every 4–6 hours as needed

  • Do not take more than 6 daytime capsules in 24 hours

  • Nighttime: Take 2 blue & red capsules at night, if needed

  • Do not exceed 8 capsules in a 24-hour period

  • Swallow capsules whole with water

 

When NOT to Use This Product

Do NOT take Lemsip Max if you:

  • Are under 16 years old

  • Are allergic to paracetamol, phenylephrine, caffeine, or any listed ingredients

  • Have serious heart problems or high blood pressure

  • Have an overactive thyroid

  • Are taking MAOIs (or have in the past 14 days)

  • Are taking other decongestants

  • Have an enlarged prostate

 

Consult your pharmacist before taking if you:

  • Have Raynaud’s syndrome

  • Have diabetes mellitus

  • Have liver or kidney problems

  • Have a history of stomach ulcers

  • Have non-cirrhotic liver disease

  • Have closed-angle glaucoma

 

Side Effects

Most users tolerate Lemsip Max well, but some may experience:

  • Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling)

  • Skin reactions (rare but serious)

  • Blood disorders (low white/red cells, easy bruising)

  • Nausea, vomiting, or stomach discomfort

  • Difficulty sleeping, nervousness, or restlessness

  • Mental confusion

  • Trouble passing urine (especially in men)

 

Report any side effects via the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Storage Instructions

  • Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place

  • Keep out of sight and reach of children

  • Do not use after the expiry date
